To apply, you must be in the New Mexico National
Guard or Reserve on active duty status (domestic or overseas) and an E-3 to E-6
(or hardship case). If you are suffering a 20% or greater loss of income due to
becoming active duty, Operation Home Front reimburses 50% of the gap up to
$500.00 per month to qualifying applicants. Along with the completed application
we also request the following documents:
- The last three copies of your civilian pay stubs
- An active duty L.E.S. (Leave and Earnings Statement)
- A copy of Orders
- If you have a monthly drill - we also request a copy of your monthly drill L.E.S.
- Documentation of monthly expenses (List all monthly expenses such as rent, groceries, etc.)
- Documentation ofavailable cash and savings reserve (Copy of bank statements - the IRS requests this additional information)
- A letter detailing the hardships and distress incurred by you and/or your family due to your military employment
If you are applying for a one-time hardship
consideration, please send a letter detailing your hardship, a completed
application and the name and phone number of your 1st Sgt.
Individuals emplayed with the City of Albuquerque will be reimbursed their gap from the city. If this applies to you, please contact your payroll department for further details. Please do not hesistate to call if you have any further questions.
